Invisible Stains

Fabric Care Tips

April 03, 2023

Often stains that are caused by food, oily type substances or beverages may become invisible when they dry. Later on, with time and or exposure to heat, a yellow or brownish stain will appear. This is caused by the oxidation or caramelization of the sugar in the staining substance. Once the stains become yellow or brown they become more difficult to remove.

Bring your stained garment to your local Martinizing Cleaners as soon as possible after wearing to prevent the stain from setting. Remember to point out any stains or areas where spills may have occurred and dried invisible to your Dry Cleaner when dropping off your items for cleaning. If you are aware of what spilled on the garment please share that information also, as it will aid in the proper treatment and removal of the stain.
